Hello,
I am now exclusively using AVIF for all images on my new WordPress sites. AVIF offers superior quality compared to JPEG and even WebP, and it is supported by over 93% of browsers, which is only slightly less than WebP’s browser support.
As a photographer, I prefer AVIF because it handles grain compression much better than WebP, which is crucial for my work.
I hope you can add support for AVIF soon, as it appears to be the best image format to use for the next decade.
