Importing Site Backup Does Not Carry Over Mobile Responsive Design

After attempting to export an existing site that I plan on using as a template for future sites, I noticed that none of the mobile responsive design of the original project is carried over into the new project where I imported the template.

Please view the screenrecording to see how this looks on my end:

Hope that this is something that can be made to work soon because getting everything working pixel-perfect on every resolution has taken me what feels like an eternity and the thought of loosing all that makes my head spin.

Thanks.

I am suprised that there is still no way to properly duplicate a project on Divhunt.

I am also suprised by the lack of interest that is shown to providing this functionality by the devs, considering the fact that copy-pasting JSON between projects also does not work properly and causes messed up CSS and partialy only carried over design. At this point it is oftern faster to recreate things form scratch.

The project duplication and JSON object copy-object and paste both need to be made to work without esoteric errors that take longer to diagnose and fix than to create things from scratch.

I used to be able to duplicate a project months ago, but now this feature has been removed, and replaced by a totally broken export-import feature.

I read somewhere someone said they have rarely needed to duplicte a site in their career as a web developer.

But I am not that person, and my career is different.

I have a template landing page that I need to be able to properly duplicate - without a lot of errors - in order to deploy it. Recreating it from scratch makes my business and pricing not competitive and not viable and just takes too long. At this point the lack of project duplicating/copying functionality in Divhunt has proven to be a huge issue.

I wrote in the discord this feedback about the backup-import not working and got a response that it will be considered. Now 2 weeks later, I am wondering if it has been put on the back burner or is actualy actively being worked on.

Hi,

We are aware that JSON is failing to copy correctly, and issue is in the classes, when working with classes, they fail… sometimes they do not get copied over, or even worse, different class gets attached to specific tag.

But from my testing, exporting and importing project from backup settings worked great. Can you give me your website which has issues when you try to do duplicate it this way, so I can test it?

And if possible, if you know the exact things that dont get duplicate correctly with this method, please write them down.

Hi @Pakic,

Thanks for your response.

I proceeded with my project I was working on, fixing things one by one, but the problem is easily replicatable when I Backup-Import my template to any new project from scratch, so I went ahead and did that to a new project that I created just for illustrating the issue. Here are the projects where you can see the issues I experience:

Template
https://tattoo-studio.divhunt.art/builder

Imported Site
https://test-tattoo-page.divhunt.website/builder

I screen recorded the entire process of backup, import and a quick overview showing what is not transferring correctly:

About the JSON issues, sounds like it is a difficult one to resolve otherwise it would be fixed by now, but this is such an important feature. I hope it can be fixed somehow soon.

Hi @Pakic, I was wondering if you have made any progress on this.

@Pakic I’m still hoping that this get’s fixed so I can create new landing pages easily and quickly by backing-up and importing, thus using the template I have created here on Divhunt.

Its’ been about a month now from when I responded with the screen recording showing the backup-importing issue in more depth with specifics and linking to a project where you can also see the issues I am experienceing in a live environment, I was really hoping to have some news of progress on this front by now. Anyways, I will keep reminding about it.

Weekly reminder that this issue is still unresolved :rotating_light:

Hey,

This should be much better now, please test it a bit if you have some time and let us know if theres some new problems

Awesome, I’m very glad to hear it!

I just did a quick test and it all looks good to me, seems like everything has carried over correctly :+1: So glad that this has been sorted

Will let you know if deeper testing revelas any issues, but for now, yeah seems perfect.

I am not using the CMS functionality just yet, so yeah, will be great when it all works, but it’s not pressing for me right now.
