Hi there)
I rebuilt my site in DivHunt (this is my first project in this editor) and my impressions:
Pros:
- fast. I don’t know how on big projects, but on a one-page site everything flies
- if you are familiar with other builders/visual code editors, everything is clear and logical.
- a lot of interesting solutions that I have not met or they were less convenient: Instance, Edit CSS, Loop, preview without publishing, etc.
- plugins - extend functionality and cover many needs. Maybe some things I would move to basic functionality, same hamburger, accordion, tabs, swiper, search. On many sites these are basic things and will always have to be plugged in.
- An interesting solution with the ability to see multiple pages and all components on one workspace. Figma fans will appreciate it)
Minuses:
- sometimes there are bugs, usually solved by reloading the page.
- some lessons are missing (recently released Academy and are working in this direction, so the minus is temporary).
What I would like to add/fix (small things that will improve interaction):
- add a link to the plugin instructions from the plugin settings tab (for example, in the corner of the plugin window make an icon with a link)
- when entering padding and margin when holding down option or shift to enter the value in 2 or 4 fields. This works if you hold and pull with the mouse, but it doesn’t work when typing with the keyboard.
- If there is a class and it is active, you can’t delete it. To delete a class, you have to make the tag active, then you can delete the class
- remove “empty” tag classes from the code, so that you can keep the order of class names and follow the same BEM. We discussed this in another thread, a solution seems to be planned. Order in DivHunt layers is good, but order in code I would also like)
- I want to be able to use var values in indentation and text size. Then it would be possible to do Fluid Responsive Design
- Live preview when changing the colour\ of the indents. It works only when you apply it, and while you change it, you can’t see the changes.
- I would like plugins to see the colours that we have saved in the styles, now we have to close the plugin to go copy the colour and return to the plugin.
Minuses and wishes, it’s just my quirks. I am very glad that such a tool has appeared, I think you are moving in the right direction. I will tell about you in chats and development groups, so that more people would know about you.
Good luck to you!
