The dh_uuid cookie

Im writing my Cookie Policy and would just like to know the purpose of the “dh_uuid” cookie set on the site so I can describe it on the policy page, it’s unclassified.

@mansanderlund

This cookie is being set automatically for every new guest accessing the Divhunt system, so we can identify the user as the same user even after refresh.

We are using that ID specifically for Divhunt analytics (analytics shown in your admin panel as well), so we do not track any activity or anything similar, we just want to identify unique users accessing Divhunt sites.

So later on we would add more data to analytics, like how many unique users per minute/hour/day, currently active etc.

Again, we are not tracking anything front-end like clicks, duration or anything similar.

Also analytics data records are being removed as soon as they reach 2 months old.

@dejan :slight_smile:

I’m currently writing privacy policies for a few clients and websites that use Divhunt. While doing some research, I came across the topic of the dh_cookie.

However, when I check in my browser, it looks like this cookie is no longer being set. Is that correct — have you managed to handle things without using a cookie now? That would be fantastic, and I could even mention that as a positive point in the privacy policy.

Just let me know!

Cheers,

Michael

Yes. Recently we removed our cookies since it was requested by some users due to GDPR policy. We don’t set any cookies now to production websites.
