Local hosting of google fonts - GDPR compliance

Hey Dejan

I was just searching for the server location of Divhunt and came across this thread. The option to choose an EU server as the storage location would be fantastic. Is this idea being pursued further? If so, is this option expected to be available soon?

@noxic

Yes still in development, will let you know once is released.

Maybe if there was a feature that allows you to list Google fonts, choose which ones to add, then add them, and by doing so downloading them and then running them locally instad? :grin:

Yes, it would be great to have the option to upload your own custom fonts.

Hi @dejan , can you already estimate when the option to choose a server in the EU or Germany will become available? Currently, it is not possible to use Divhunt in compliance with GDPR, which unfortunately means that the site has to be exported and hosted on a different server.

@nocodecosmos

We already have Germany available, but itā€™s in testing phase. Can you ping again in few days and should be ready for you to be among first ones to try it out.

@dejan any news? Thank you

@nocodecosmos

Sadly we have to postpone this feature for a couple more days, we have issues with storage and uploading assets, publishing and re-building sites taking too long.

We are working on re-organizing the storage structure so it can support multiple regions and solve all the issues we are facing.

Iā€™ll keep you posted, however feel free to work on your website even now, as you will be able to move your project to another region later on without any issues.

Hi @dejan thanks for the info, can you estimate when you will be done with it? I would like to use it for the customer and not have to switch to an alternative now.

@nocodecosmos

I canā€™t give you exact date, but I am currently working on it. Hopefully from next few days to 1 week, with that new storage/upload system will come with folders etc.

@dejan any news for me?

@nocodecosmos

Iā€™ll enable feature this weekend :slight_smile: So it will be ready from Monday.

Back end is ready and tested, seems to be working fine.

We now have location in EU/Nuremberg (Pool 2).

We are working on new Dashboard panel where upon project creation, youā€™ll be able to choose where you want to store your data, will be available next week, but if you donā€™t want to wait for that, you can create new project and give me ID and Iā€™ll setup the location.

@dejan Thank you for the good news. Is it possible to relocate an existing project?

@nocodecosmos

Thereā€™s export/import functionality, however currently thereā€™s no support for Collections, so everything else should be migrated but not Collections. We will work on that in the following days.

Also fonts/sitemap/robots are not migrating too. But thatā€™s a quick manual fix.

So not sure if you are using Collections, if not then it shouldnā€™t be a problem, if you are using, then I can do support for it in next 1-2 days.

@nocodecosmos

Your site is currently hosted in pool 1 (US + EU) so itā€™s a completely different database. So migrations are kinda tricky, for sure we will create an easier way to switch pools, but currently the only way is to create a backup and then import that backup to another project.

We will work on that in the following days to finish the new dashboard and release those features.

If you are not in a super rush and you can wait a few more days, by the end of the week you will be ready 100%. This is our super priority now and we are making excellent progress.

Hi @dejan can you transfer this both projects (9405 9425). Then i can backup and import the other two projects. Thank you

@nocodecosmos

Sure, Iā€™ll migrate them tomorrow and provide you with next steps, you would need to replace A record only.
